Version: v.X Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I have inserted section breaks into my word document. I want page numbers to be reflected in three ways. 1) Roman Numerals 2) Arabic Numerals 3) no page numbers. My first and second sections are fine, but when I can't figure out how to change the third section, so that it is different from section 2 and thus does not contain any page numbers. Please Help, thanks

There are two steps to this:

1) Make sure your Page Numbers are IN the footer

2) Remove the "Same as Previous" attribute from the Section 3 footer.

If you simply use Insert>Page numbers, by default Word creates the page
number in a floating text box that is positioned over the top of the footer,
but it is part of the main document, not IN the footer. You have to delete
these.

You can tell that this has happened if you click the page number and you see
it surrounded by a small square box. Select the box, and hit Delete. You
may have to do this several times, because you can sometimes get more than
one page number in a document.

Then use View>Header and Footer and open the footer itself. Insert the page
number in there, so that it is part of the footer, and not in an independent
text box.

Then you can set the Footer for Section 2 to be "Same as Previous" to copy
the page number into Section 2. Then remove "Same as Previous" from Section
3, to remove the page numbers from Section 3.

Hope this helps
