I've created an 8 page document where I wish to have a
footer on page 2 only.

Many thanks in advance for all who helped.

Hi Mark,

Put your footer text into an IF field in your footer. It must be between
quotation marks and cannot contain quotation marks.

{ IF { Page } = 2 "footer text" }

Insert the field braces using Ctrl-F9. Don't type them using the braces on
the keyboard; they don't work. You can do this by typing the text for the
fields and then select each field (working from the inside to the outside)
and press Ctrl-F9. Or, you can press Ctrl-F9 as you get to the place where
you want each field and use your arrow keys or mouse to leave the field and
continue typing. When you have finished the entire field, move the insertion
point (cursor) into the field and press the F9 key.

Hi, Mark,

There are two possible solutions.

The simpler one -- assuming that the page with the footer will always
be page 2 -- is to insert a nested field in the footer, using Ctrl+F9
to insert each pair of field braces:
{ IF { PAGE } = 2 "Show this" "" }

The more complex one is to insert section breaks before and after the
material on page 2, turn off the "Same as previous" setting in each
section's footer, and place your text only in the section 2 footer.

Charles,

Thank you for your reply.

I've tried to do what you've said but am going wrong
somewhere. I've typed out what you've stated below and all
the information appears on the footer.

What have I missed?

Thanks,

Mark

Did you use Ctrl+F9 to insert the field delimiters as Charles instructed
you?
