Footnote spacing

If you have a document with footnotes, and you choose to
place footnotes benetah the etx rather than at the bottom
of the page, is there a way to define the nuymber of space
word will place between the text and the footnotes? Ive
tried changing the apacing options on the "footnote"
style, but that doesn't work too well on pages with more
than one footnote.

The only way I can think of is to apply paragraph spacing to the
footnote separator. You can access the separator if you switch to
Normal View (View > Normal) and then show footnotes (View >
Footnotes). Select "Footnote Separator" in the box and apply spacing
to it through the Indents and Spacing tab of the Paragraph dialog box
(Format > Paragraph). When you are done, click the Close button.

Since Stefan's excellent answer did not specify, I'll just add that you want
to add Space *Before* (above) the separator.
