For Bob Phillips

I sent you a file to the email address you post on this group leaving out
the suggested text. I assume this would not be considered spam as you
advertise the address. Please be up front if you want to help me or yourself

This is a service that we give in out own time, with no remuneration.
Publicly admonishing because your request might have got caught up in the
system seems somewhat disingenuous to me.

I get somewhere in the region of 100 spam messages per day at this address,
presumably because I once made the mistake of publishing an unadulterated
email address. As such I have an aggressive spam filter that accepts nothing
until I spot it and release it. If you sent me unsolicited mail and there
was nothing there to catch my eye that I might have wanted to look at it, it
would be binned. As I am sure that you can see, 100 per day is too much to
check each one, so I need some assistance.

And can you enlighten me as to how I help myself with all of this?

Hi Dennis,

It is conventional NG etiquette - not to mention plain good manners - not to
send unsolicited attachments to volunteer, peer to peer, contributors.
I assume this would not be considered spam as you advertise the address.

The very fact that Bob has intentionally disguised his address should have
alerted you to the fact that spam - unsolicited attachments especially
included - is not welcomed by him.

Having ignored such obvious precepts, you compound matters by being
gratuitously rude and offensive.

Bob has responded to many thousands of queries in these groups and your
response does him an unwarranted disservice; it also displays a deep-seated
ingratitude for the assistance which is provided so bountifully and without
charge in these NGs.

Bob is in the very vanguard of such assistance and I think that an
unqualified retraction and apology would not be inappropriate.

I shall not, however, hold my breath!

To add to the other comments.
Perhaps you should change your name before coming back here.

Dennis,
Kind of Harsh aren't you?

This is one of the most pleasant and helpful groups that I have ever seen,
used and been helped by. The MVP's, other professionals that contribute and
help us that are less talented are a true asset.

Not sure what happened or was suppose to happen to your email to Bob but try
to be a little more pleasant with the presentation.
