force shutdown

Hi - I was wondering what the best option would be for forcing Access to
shutdown for backup purposes. The database currently resides on a client
running XP pro and normally is shut down during the end of the day. The
problem is when someone on the LAN logs in after this point and forgets to
close. When the backup script runs it shows the DB as being open and skips.
I'm sure there are multiple ways of addressing this problem - just wondering
what the best would be.

Thanks - there may be a greater problem though. I noticed this morning when
trying to access the DB I received the message ""database needs to be
repaired or isn't a database file. You or another user may have unexpectedly
quit microsoft
access while a microsoft access database was open...." I ran the repair and
it was fine. This was my reasoning for ensuring it was shut down propery but
there may be other problems.
