Force Uppercase when entering data in a cell

I think my previous request was lost!!

OK, I want to enter a 17-digit alphanumeric field in a cell. I can do cell validation to accept 17 characters but how do I automatically change lower-case character entrys to upper-case at the same time?
Enter: 23we345rt...
see: 23WE345RT..

this could only be done with VBA (using an event macro). See

What about putting =UPPER(CELL in Col A) in Col B. You
could input data in col a and read off col b
