Hi Constantine,
Dear Common Wisdom,

Woops, this one is not avctually for me... O:)

My ppt presentation menu on the left is not showing up with the correct
foreign fonts. How can I do this?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Could you let us know what type
of font ?? The version of Office (and localization) and MacOS would also
be very helpful...

Dear Corentin,

OK. I'm working in Mac OS x 10.2 with Greek capabilities. My ppt
presentation is in Greek. When I type the headings for each slide in Greek,
however, the map to the left of the slide is nonsense: '___-+=___. *_-___.'
Something like that. In other words, the encoding seems not to be understood
by PPT.

Can this be adjusted?

Also, since this is the case, when I save my presentation as a web page, the
same holds true for the menu that shows up in the left frame of the browser.

So, my question, I guess, is can I tell ppt what font to use for the menu
both in the program itself and when it generates the presentation as a web
page.

Thanks
Constantine

You mean you have added Greek fonts from third aprty vendors or you're
just using the fonts provided with the system and Office ?? MacOS X by
itself supports Unicode and therefore is always compatible with Greek.
It could prove a little more complicated in some apps.

So you're not using a basic font like Symbols...
Was the presentation created on a PC ??? I suspect it was and the
presentation is using Unicode fonts for Greek. The problem is that PPT X
does not support Unicode and cannot display your presentation properly
:-\
Can this be adjusted?

Not if the presentation was indeed created in Unicode.
Can you select the text and change the font to a Grek Font that would be
available in PPT ???

I fear this cannot be done through PPT X... Try changing the font but
beside that, I have very little hope :-|
