I am using Word X for Mac and I am having problems switching to
foreign dictionaries. the entires "language" bar seems to have
disappeared from the Tools drop-down menu. any reason why this isn't
showing up? I've been using this for over a year and suddenly it l=no
lnger works.

My guess is that you have corrupted preferences. I'd quit WOrd and
delete the Word preference file. You'll loose some of your settings, but
at least you should be able to, make a fresh start.
