Forgive my stupidity, How can I restore emails from a "hard delete"

Hello all:

Please help.

Today, when I used "shift-delete" to erase my daily spam-emails, I
accidentally chose all my in-box emails.

So they were gone under my nose. I am regretting to death.

I am using outlook 2000 and customized d:\data\email\myemail.pst as my
online email file. No exchange server, just pure internet email client. I
didn't do a compact/compress yet and I closed my outlook immediately after
this accident.

It's a windows 2000 pro SP4 NTFS PC.


I swear I will backup my PST file at least once a week in the future.

PLEASE HELP ME OUT.

There is at least one commercial service that says it can restore deleted
data -- see http://www.slipstick.com/problems/scanpst.htm#tools . If you're
not willing to pay, then I hope you have a backup of your .pst file.
