Forklift Hours

How do I put into the schedule the number of hours that I have available for
a piece of equipment - like a forklift. I understand that "material" type of
resource exists but this is a little different in that it isn't consumable.
It has to be a set number of hours available per day - regardless if 1
Forklift driver or 30 are available - the forklift itself isn't available any
more (or less) hours per day. Also, this is something I want to track in
hours so that I can lump it in with other, human, resources. How can I track
the number of hours that it is available?

Why don't you define it as an Project Server Resource and set the calendar to
the number of hours per day?

CQ,

you will then need to assign someone as the reporting agent to each piece of equipment.

Example: If the forklift had been booked for 8 hours but in fact it is returned to the pool after just 2 hours.
The agent would log in to PWA, (after log out if they are presently log in under a domain account)
and enter
user name: forklift1
password: 12345678
then record 2 hours actual work and 0 remaining work against the original 8 hours work (which would immediately revise itself 2
hours).

This pattern would need to be repeated for every piece of machinery.
