I have a website that hosts guestbooks for obituaries. Some thing - or some
one has found this site and the guest books are filling with bogus names,
addresses, etc and then http:// addresses in the comments section. How can I
block this kind of activity? I've changed folder names, pages, etc which
gives me a temporary fix but eventually it is found and it starts all over
again.

Sorry, it can't be done with the FP Guestbook.
Unless you password protect it an only allow certain people access.

Seems to be a big problem as of late, and the same query
to the newsgroups is almost daily now.

FP has nothing to stop this. You have also found out that
changing file names etc is only a temporary reprieve.
Unfortunately, the only real solution at this time is to
abandon the guestbook.

I have fought with this also, to the point of redoing the
entire gb process. My gb entries are now emailed to me, and
then I choose to post them if appropriate. It prevents the
bad from going in to the gb, but spam entries outweigh the
good by me by about 20 to 1

Tom, you just gave me an idea. Instead of using a password
though, what would you think of one of those images with
non-machine readable text in it?
