form error using asp response.write statement

I am using a form and am filling in one of the fields programatically using
an asp response.write statement. It works properly, with one exception.
Anything that is displayed after a space, is not displayed on the form. For
example the item is named "some object today", only "some" is the only thing
displayed. Does anyone know what causes this or how to fix it?

Do not use spaces in object names (assuming the object is a form field
or form etc.)
"some object today" should be "some_object_today" or "SomeObjectToday"
Note that hyphens and other punctuation are also illegal in this
context.
