Form opening on start-up

Shaun Hubbard

Hi

I have been asked to sort out a problem with a Microsoft Access database.
Unfortunately some of it has been written by a Russian so the occasional
field is named in Russian (I don't know if this has anything to do with it
though!).

The problem I have is that when I go into the database a certain form comes
up automatically, with no controls to print it out or anything. I can open
it by pressing shift before I double-click and that gets me into the 'design
window'. I can then do whatever I want. Now, I have checked for an
autoexec macro - there aren't any macros so it isn't that. I have checked
all the properties of the form and nothing seems out of the ordinary.

What I ideally want is that the database opens up as any normal database -
the 'design window' appears so I can select either tables, queries, reports,
etc. I do not want the form coming up automatically.

Have I missed something really easy? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Shaun,
Once you are in the database, at the design window,
check the startup (click startup on Tools). There is
probably a form name entered under "Display Form". Erase
it.

Go to the TOOLS menu and select STARTUP. There you can
select if you would like a form to open and if you would
like the database window to appear on startup.
