Form question - divide or add cell to make more columns

D

DianaH

I created a form and it works.
There are 3 columns of check boxes in one cell. How can I get the form to
allow me to split that column into three. The check boxes aren't straight
because they are created, by simply adding spacebar spaces (looks bad). I
want the form to span over three columns but I can't seem to get that to
happen for me.

What am I doing wrong. I can't believe a form can't be divided into more
columns or rowsl. Thanks for your suggestions.

Click within that cell. Insert a new, 3 column/1 row table. Put each
checkbox into a new cell of that nested table.

Insert a 3 column table into this cell, then move each checkbox into a cell.

First, split the cell into 3 columns. Click inside the cell, then from the
menu: Table->Split Cells and choose 3 columns.
Then drag the check boxes and associated text into the appropriate columns.
Finally, delete the excess space characters.

Put a table within the form then put your check boxes into columns/cells
whatever.

| Wow - what unanimity! It simply MUST be correct, then.

Well, I'm even more elated that the rest of you. I'm about to give it a
try. It should work.
Definitely splitting didn't work ... didn't think to nest. I guess it all
comes with experience ... gettin' better all the time, but still learning.
Thank you all ....

Here's a great rule-o-digit for you -

1. Don't split - nest
2. Don't merge - stack (this means instead of merging cells, start a new
table with the desired row/column configuration

These are designed to minimize the col- and rowspans in your tables - they
are definitely evil.
