Hello All

Got a new one here. Okay so I create a search form with a subform, instead of
creating one form, to make viewing easier. Only problem is when I run the
createQBF utility it only lists the form as the parent not the subform as
well under the Tag property. Now that I manually created the search items
from the subform in my QBF search form they do not work. I'd rather not have
a seperate QBFsearch form for both.

QBF search form is the Filter by From creation using Ken Getz tool.

I was hoping to be able to have searchable fields from both the form and
subform on this new QBF search form and have it return using the form/subform
design. Only way I can get it to search subform items right now is to use a
single form to create the QBF search form.

So I have this line in my form properties

Tag Parent=EngineeringIssues;

Is there anyway to add the subform to this statement

Thanx in advance

Thanx for the input Allen

Since there appears to be no easy way to combine the form and subform for
filtering at this point, and I would rather not rebuild the forms with the
method you provided is there any way to change the report window that the QBF
returns matches with.

In other words can I create a form with all the data in one page, use the QBF
tool to create the search form, but then have the search form return the
matching data in a Form/Subform view.

You can create a query that combines the tables into one output, and then
use that query as the source for a QBF just as if all the fields were in the
one table.

Personally, I would not do it that way, as it starts to get too confusing
when you try to combine fields from all those table. You will probably need
to use outer joins in the query, and watch the criteria carefully so you
ensure that you do get the records from the main tables even where there is
no record in some of the related tables.

Thanx again Allen

But the question is, is it possible to have a QBF search form return the
filtered data in a Form/SubForm format when the search form and the form it
is created from is a single page? Not asking you to figure it out, just
wondering if you know off hand.
