Format Cells

Hello,

I am using Office 2000 SP3 on XP Home SP2. I saved a worksheet from Quattro Pro 11 SP3 as an Excel worksheet. I open it in Excel, there are no protections on any cells or the workbook. However, when I try to format cells nothing comes up. I am using either the right mouse button menu for a cell or the Format menu and cells. What can I do to be able to format a cell? This is not a problem in a new Excel workbook

I've never used Quatro Pro...

But maybe you can create a new worksheet and copy the formulas from the
worksheet that came from QP and paste special|formulas into the new worksheet.

You may have to reapply any existing formatting, though.

I thought of that but it would be a laborious step because I would have to do it every two weeks.

So, I still just need to know how to be able to format a cell as Excel tells one they can?

The only time I've seen this kind of thing, I could select the range to format
and a cell pretty far away. Then I could rightclick|format cells and it would
work.

Then I would go back to that sacrificial cell and "unformat" it.

I've never seen any other options besides these two.
