Format individual text lines in Org Chart shape (visio 2003)

After importing and creating my organization chart, there are certain
individuals that I want to highlight their names. I'm looking for a way to
only modify the format of the Name displayed in an ord chart shape.

The text is displayed in the following order:
Top: Department
Middle: Title
Bottom: Name

As far as I can tell, the Org Chart shape only allows you to format the
entire box, even though each text item is a separate element.

Any suggestions?

Have you played with the Options dialog at the bottom of the Organization
Chart menu. It allows you to customize the text placement.

Menu Bar > Organization Chart > Options > Text tab. Select how you want to
format each entry as desired.

I should have been more clear, but I am trying to change the background color
of the Name and Title elements.

I'm new to visio and this community, but I'm delighted at how open and
willing everyone is to help. Thanks!

Ouch. You are quite correct regarding the background color. The problem is
that the three text lines are in a single text box. You can verify this by
selecting a shape and then selecting the Text Box Tool from the menu
bar--it's the scroll down option under the Text Tool.

Unfortunately, there's no convenient work-around. You could draw a
rectangle, fill it with the desired highlight color, make it
semi-transparent, and place it over the text. But, this will partially
obscure the text being highlighted. There doesn't seem to be a way to place
the highlight behind the text.

Even the 4 Blocks, which are separate Geometry's, do not allow background
coloring.

I'm willing to do some coding or edit the shapesheet, but I'm not sure where
to begin. I thought about creating 3 text boxes and adding them to the group
shape, but I don't know if the Org Chart Wizard will recognize the boxes and
allow me to insert/assign the Department, Title and Name values.

Any suggestions?

Actually you can changethe background colour of the blocks in the corner.
The main shape has text in the center, but the text in the corners are four
seperate sub shapes. You can edit the stencil and modify those shapes. DO
NOT UNGROUP the shape, but use the explorer to select the individual shape
and then use the Format menu to change the settings.
