Format Option Unavailable

For some reason, when I try to format a cell with a negative number, the
option to display it in parenthesis is nowhere to be found. It used to be
located in Format, Cells, Numbers . . . I can not find that format in any of
the standard number formatting options.

I have not made any changes to my installation, etc.

Any ideas?

In the Format Cells Box, check the type of Category your cells are.
Try using the "Number" Category.

If negative brackets are not available in the Number>Negative Numbers dialog.

This is a function of your Regional Settings in Windows OS.

Start>Settings>Control Panel>Regional and Language Settings>Regional
Options>Customize>Currency>Negative Currency Format. Click on drop-down arrow
and select the ($1.1)

Note: this is under the "Currency" tab in Regional Options. Changing under
the "Numbers" tab only does not do the trick.

Apply and OK>Apply your way out.
