Format setting

Hi there, Can anyone help. I am writing a proposal with word 2003. I am
having 2 issues with word. These are when using a footer the page no is
displaying as “page†rather than a number. Secondly, for hyperlinks instead
for example “www.microsoft.com †it is coming up “HYPERLINK www.microsoft.com
â€. Would anyone by any chance know how to change this setting? It seems
fairly well hidden. Thanks

Method #1:
Alt + F9

Method #2:
Tools | Options
Select the "View" tab
UNcheck "Field codes" box
