Format Text Box - "Set AutoShape Default"

All,

Is this another bug in Word 2008?

- Create a text box, with a line border of 0.76.
- Right click on the text box, and select "Set AutoShape Defaults"

Now, try creating a new text box. Do you get a line border? [I don't]

I've tried editing the Normal.dotm file, fiddling with different settings, but I can't seem to figure out any way to set text boxes to have any line border by default.

Very frustrating.

Might be considered a bug but I tend to think it is "by design"

Apparently, Text Boxes aren't considered as AutoShapes. Even though
"technically" they're just rectangles preconfigured for containing text
that's evidently just enough of a distinction to disqualify them from the
AutoShape category - if you notice the Text Box tool isn't in the same
palettes as the "other" AutoShapes.

Odd as it may seem, however, the Set As Default command you applied *has*
affected the other AutoShapes in that file, so if you draw a regular
rectangle (or other shape) it will have the formatting you applied to the
Text Box. Just Control/Right-Click it & pick the Add Text command instead of
drawing another Text Box.

I'll run it up the pole just to see what MacBU has to say on it.
