format validation list value

When applying data validation Excel 2002 does not allow conditional formatting of that cell depending on the list value entered. Is there a workaround for this issue

Hi

It works for me, the only constraint that I can think of is that cel
formats that can change the row height or column width cannot be use
as conditional formats.

What's the formats that you are trying to apply? :eek

Thanks Kiaat

I have found the workaround
When formatting conditionally you should refer to the cells that contain the list values, not to the dropdown cell showing the result of someones choice
