If I have added color to columns and rows to aid in user input is there a
way to have the colors ignored for printing purposes?

I think you would have to copy elsewhere or remove and put back with a macro
after printing.

If you turn on the Black and White option, the colours should be ignored--

Choose File>Page Setup
Select the Sheet tab
Add a check mark to 'Black and White'
Click OK
