Formating changes while typing

Hello :)

I have been having issues at work with Word 2000. The font, size, and text position (I want it centered and it goes to the left) changes while I am typing it out. Especially with labels. I will go to the next label and all of a sudden the font size will change and the font itself won't be the same (Arial to Times New Roman). I have to constantly change it to the way I want it including Bold.

I have tried everything I can think of. It's almost like the format is corrupt or something. It doesn't even go to the default font. Now I have an issue where the label spacing itself is changed on the same page.

Thanks for your help :)

Labels are set up as a table, and each cell is independent. Unless you have
changed the default font in Word (the font of Normal style in Normal.dot),
you haven't changed the font for labels, which use Normal style. If you have
used the New Document button to create a sheet of labels, you should be able
to select the entire table and change the font, though the most satisfactory
(and permanent) way to do this is to apply a different style, not just apply
direct font formatting.

Thanks Suzanne

Now what about when I hit tab to get to the next label, and the space that is supposed to be there between the labels isn't there? It will happen anywhere on the sheet. What is that all about? I have NEVER had these problems before.

Label layouts create space in one of two ways:

1. By including a paragraph indent in the label setup.

2. By including a narrow column between the label cells.

Most labels are set up using the first method; if you apply a different
style that does not have this indent, then there will be no space.
