Is it possible to format the column headings on Datasheet reports
Funtions like grow or autowrap

No. Datasheets are really pretty limited.

Use a Continuous Form - you can put Label controls in the report header,
arranged however you like; put one or more rows of controls at the top of the
detail section. It gives you a lot more flexibility and control than a
Datasheet.
