Formating text in Publisher

I am putting together a phone list and on the first line I put the name and
then right justify the phone number on the same line like below. Not all
names are the same length and the phone numbers do not line up as if in a
column. Any suggestions. Word Perfect calls it trailing dots?

You want to set a right-aligned tab stop as close enough to the right edge
of the text box as possible, and then set the leader to be dots.

Ed, I am just learning Publisher and am unsure of how to do this step. Is
there more explicit instructions for me. Tabs for dummies would help.

Thanks.

In Publisher 2002 and below:
Select the text that you want to set this way.
At the top-left of the screen, click the "L" symbol until it changes to a
"_|" symbol.
Click and drag this onto the ruler as far right as possible. Zoom in to
maximum zoom and you may be able to get it closer to the margin.
Double-click this new tab stop.
Click "Dot . . . ." and then click "Set".
Click OK.

Now, you can set the document up such as
Bob XXXXX<tab>###-###-###
John XXXXX<tab>###-###-###

In Publisher 2003, you must shift-click the L mark instead of merely
clicking it.

page so can work on it as a Word document? Or just work on it!!!! Thanks.

a) This does not seem to be related to the original question or to my
response - why are you posting it as a reply to this thread?
b) You can only remove so many words from a sentence before it ceases to
make sense. You have gone past this limit. Please type out your entire
question, complete with all words necessary for it to be coherent, so I can
work out what you mean.

If you are unable to do this, then I might guess from a couple of snippets
that you have not activated Publisher, and so you have been locked out of
the ability to edit your documents.

Sorry, Ed, you appear to be someone who knows his way around templates,
newsletters. Didn't mean to get jelly on your peanut butter. A Novice.

It's quite alright - but I read all threads, so I would have read your
question anyway. :)

Getting jelly on peanut butter is a good thing. Especially if it's
strawberry preserves and crunchy peanut butter.

Your question doesn't make a lot of sense so let's try this......... Can you
explain what you mean by "transfer 11 point text for template"? Also, please
explain "activating page". If you are asking if you can convert a Publisher
file to Word, not without losing your formatting and graphics. Publisher is
the correct tool for newsletters, Word really isn't.
