Trevor

I am trying to put screen tips on must of my text but some text will not let
me. I'm thinking that it has something to do the Styles, but I am unable to
find the Style the text, that will let me, inorder to change it.

Has anybody come accross this, better still did you solve it, if so, how.

M

Murray

Can you show me your page's code, and tell me specifically what you are
trying to do?

T

Trevor

Hi Murray thanks for your reply.
Firstly, I am not sure what you mean by page code! The problem should be
reasonably simple, some text I am able to attach a hyperlink with a screen
tip to describe a little about what the text is saying.

I have noticed that the text that allows me to place a screen tip is in the
style of "Normal.MsoM" and the only style close to it is "Normal" which no
diffrence. I haven't try to put any particular style in the text I have let
the program look after that side of things. I built the site last year and
now doing some updating,so I am new at this.

M

Murray

Firstly, I am not sure what you mean by page code!

What you see when you open the page and look at the code view.
I am new at this.

I know! 8) If you show me your code, then I can know exactly what you are
working with and guide you accordingly....

T

Trevor

Sorry Murray,
I can't find the code your talking about unless it is "htm" but I think that
is the answer to the question. I've looked right through the program and find
a code view.

Thank you for your patience & time, by the way, where are you living, hate
to think that your are just around the corner or a reasonable phone call away

Thomas gave you the correct nomeclature for the way to see the underlying
code on a page. You can also do a preview in browser and then select VIEW |
Source. I need to see that code - a copy and paste will do fine.

I am in the Philadelphia area....

Hope this helps you to help me, thanks.

I am in South Australia.

I am in the process of trying to make the web site more accessible for people
who have vision impairments and other types of disabilities and was trying to
place a screen tip on each paragraph to direct people to the plain text
format.
So the short answer is 'anywhere'.

Give me an example of a 'tip' please.

Nevermind. The code is pretty messy. But - if you want to learn how to do
this, make this simple change. Change each paragraph from this (for
example) -

<p style="text-align: left; margin-right: -2.95pt">
<font face="Perpetua"><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size: 12.0pt;
font-weight: normal;
text-decoration: none">As Consultants they have worked broadly with </span>

none">many </span>
<span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-weight: normal;
text-decoration: none">Local Government</span><span style="font-size:
12.0pt; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none">
authorities as well as</span><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size: 12.0pt;
font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none">Festival Theatre Trust, SA
Housing Trust, non-government agencies, Adelaide Law Courts,
National Parks, </span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-weight: normal;
text-decoration: none">
Adelaide Botanic Gardens, </span><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size:
12.0pt; font-weight: normal;
text-decoration: none">Universities and with individuals in the private
sector, including tourism operators</span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;
font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none">. Their key role has been to
provide </span><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-weight:
normal; text-decoration: none">audit reports</span><span style="font-size:
12.0pt; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none">,</span><span
lang="EN-GB" style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-weight: normal; text-decoration:

advice</span><span style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-weight: normal;
text-decoration: none"> and solutions</span><span lang="EN-GB"
style="font-size: 12.0pt; font-weight: normal; text-decoration:
none">.</span></font></p>

(note I have captured everything from the <p> tag preceding the paragraph
content to the </p> tag following it)

to this -

<div style="cursor:help;" title="This is the first paragraph">....everything
above...</div>

(note that I have just wrapped that whole paragraph in the <div> shown
here - change the words in the title attribute to suit)
