formatted text in a form

In a FP2000 guestbook.
Question with the scrolling text box (like this one).
I can't get formatted text to appear in the uploaded
guestbook, just end up with a continuous line of words but
not with

returns to the next line.

anyone got a quick answer please?

Any line endings the visitor enters in a scrolling text
box do get saved as results, but the browser ignores
these line endings (just as it ignores any other line
endings).

If you want the original line endings to appear, you'll
either need to display the result text between <pre> and
</pre> tags, or write an ASP page that converts line
endings to <br>'s.

Sadly, no, not using the FrontPage guest book. You could:

1. Change your guestbook form to create database records.
2. Use the database results wizard to display the database
contents.
3. Format the Comments column to appear within <pre> and
</pre> tags.

but whether that constitutes "quick & easy" depends clearly
on the eye of the beholder.
