Formatting a header

I have a header that has a book title in the left part and a page number field in the right part. I want the book title (which now is not in a field) to be left-justified and the page number to be right-justified. How can I do that? (I'm using Word 2002.)

Hi Howard,

The default paragraph style for headers is Header -- you should see that
name in the style field of the toolbar when the cursor is in the header.
That style has tab predefined stops, a centered one at 3" and a
right-aligned one at 6". Just put the cursor between the title and the page
number, and press the Tab key twice (or only once if the title extends past
the 3" mark).

If your margins are more or less than 6" apart, you may need to move the tab
stops. Although you can just drag them on the ruler, that isn't a good way.
Instead you should modify the Header and Footer styles by going through the
Format > Style dialog.

Left justify your paragraph and add a right justified tab.
Type in your title, then tab, then insert your page
number. Word usually puts a center tab in the header and
footer you might want to delete that as well or you may
need to tab twice to get the right tab.
