Formatting a Text Box

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) How do you format the text within a text box to be centered both horizontally and vertically?

I am attempting to create a template using aligned text boxes so that 1 or 2 lines of text can be typed into the box and it will always be centered. Horizontal is easy to do, but I am not succeeding with the vertical?

The intent of this is to be able to enter names into each box and print and cut out name tag inserts. Maybe I'm using the wrong approach? Thanks!

Well, the approach you are using is very laborious.

I would use a Word "Table" and you will find this is very easy to do.

1) Insert a Table

2) Select it

3) Right-click and choose Cell Alignment "Slign Centre"

4) Right-click again and choose Borders and Shading and turn them all OFF.

Cheers

Why not just use Tools> Labels & pick one of the Avery templates that
approximates the dimensions you'd prefer? You don't have to actually print
to label stock, you can use plain paper.

Thanks John. You are right! The table is a much better solution than the text box. I appreciate your time.
