Formatting an article in a discussion forum

It seems that when an article is posted and then
recalled, any formatting ie new paragraphs etc. is lost.

How can the formatting be retained from the original
article to when it is recalled.

Thanks Stefan very helpful,

How can I take the next step in regard to formatting. The paragraph is one
long string of words and does not format to fit the frame. This makes reading
it very difficult...how can I format it so it fits in the frame without
having to right arrow to be able to read the sentence.

<Pre> means just that (no wrapping of text until user hits a return)
