Formatting entire PPT document

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Intel I have several PowerPoint documents, all of around 500 slides, that need to be formatted from their default format.
Im not sure how they made the original document, it looks like a cut and paste job, with no real thought into how it looked.

What I have been doing is going through each slide... resizing the title box and applying a simple line border, changing the font size from 44 to 32 and changing the case to all caps, also, changing the font size of the slide text to 24 and center-aligning it...
This is very annoying, not to mention time consuming.
I have looked online for scripts or automator files to complete some of this, but I haven't ever used automator, and I haven't had much practice with scripting, and the information out there isn't really helping.

Is there anything I can do to make this a bit easier/faster, I would really appreciate, I know there probably is, but it's outside the scope of my self-training at this present point.

Have a look at PPT Help on the topic: Create a Custom Theme

Thank you for your prompt reply.
Yes, this is the sort of thing I am looking for, but there is no option to change font size. Is there a setting, script or something that will allow me to change the heading text and body text font size, case, and/or text box settings?

Cheers

If you've got any way of moving the file to a Windows PC temporarily
for editing, we have an add-in that'd be very helpful for this; you use
it to create styles much like those in Word, then apply them to text or
shapes in your PPT document. The free demo lets you create up to five
styles, which might be all you need for this.

Again, this is a Windows-only add-in unfortunately.

Set the default font size as you format the shape before using the 'Set as
default' command... As well as any other attributes you want to modify. I
believe the only thing that can't be controlled is Shadow effect.
