formatting labels

I'm trying to make labels and I'd like all my labels to start at the same
vertical point, but I can't figure out how to do that. I have a template
already set up. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks.

What program are you using for the labels? If in Word 2003, right click on
a label and click Cell Alignment. Do on each cell for each label.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm trying to get the text to start at a
specific point (about 1/2 an inch from the top of the label). Is there anyway
I can customize where the text starts specifically, kind of like what one can
do with bullets?

Enter a couple of carriage returns (with proper text size) to bring the
start point down. To move to the right or left on the page, change the
margin.

Also in Word 2003 the label layout is actually a table and you can Right
click on a label, click Table properties and then click Options. There you
can set all margins for the individual cells.

Rather than using empty paragraph marks for spacing and attempting to
figure out what font size to use to obtain .5 inches, use
Format/Paragraph and in "Space Before" type .5 in

But, since these are labels the second option provided is the
preferred method: Use Table/Properties/Cell, click the Options command
and set a .5" top margin.

Thank you - I was going to suggest that. It seems like I'm the one who ends
up cleaning up those empty paragraphs in everyone else's documents.
