Formatting lost

I created a 4 page form template and sent it to 4 people
within my company. When all 4 opened it, each had a
different view of the form. The tab stops and the margins
were different on each desktop. The form was password
protected. We are all running the same version of Win 2000
+ Word. What could be the cause of this?
