formatting palette flies off the screen

all of the sudden, when I select the formatting palette icon from my
toolbar, the palette appears and then flies off the bottom of my
screen, where it can't be grabbed. I've tried deleting the word
preferences and letting word reset them to no avail. Any ideas anyone?

Are you sure you're not "cfdhb", who had a similar problem with similar
language on Tuesday with XL?
