formatting palette

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther)

My formatting palette has suddenly started to fly from top to bottom of my screen & become unuseable when I click on it in the View menu.

I saw a "fix" for this that refers to Visual Basic Editor and AppleScript, but I have no idea how to find or begin to use those things. Can anyone help with this problem?

This is what you need... The instructions are pretty straightforward, just
make sure you enter the commands accurately
