Formatting question

I managed to turn on some kind of formatting when I type emails. I can see
all of my spaces, returns, etc. Each is marked by a dot or the paragraph sign
etc. When I send the email, no one else can see it but it is making me crazy.
Does anyone know how to turn this feature off!?

What version of Outlook are you using? The quick (possibly not helpful)
answer is to turn off Word's showing of field codes.
