Formatting suddenly showing up in my signature, help?

I've been using the same signature on my emails for years and yesterday they
suddenly show up with formatting (paragraph marks, etc). I must have hit
something? But don't know what and I can't get rid of it. Using html for
signature. Thanks.

Ctrl+Shift+8 toggles the formatting marks off and on.
