formatting text box around graphic

Erika

Ok. I have 2 columns and a small picture on one page. The text is
flowing from Col1 to Col2. The picture is in the upper left of Col1. I
moved it to the upper center of the page, overlapping both columns a
little. Col1 text flowed around the image. Col2 text stayed behind the
image. I tried to format the text box and couldn't get it to flow. Any
ideas?

To auto flow from one text box to another, try this:

Your column two can't have anything in it, so extend column one down far
enough to accept all the text in column two.

Cut the text in column two and paste it in the extended column one.

Now to link the columns:

Click on column one.
Click on the chain link on the toolbar.

The mouse pointer turns into a steaming tea pot(?)
Move the mouse tea pot over column two and it will tip.
Click

Now the two columns are linked and when you shorten column one back to where
you want it, column two will start to fill.

If your inserted image still gives you a problem, come back with a new note.

If i understood you correctly, that didn't change anything. When I
extended col 1, all the text fell back into col 1, and there was nothing
to cut from col 2. Then I moved the image. Then I shortened col 1 and
poured it into col 2. The text went behind the image again.

With col 2 selected, i went into 'Format text box' -> layout ->
wrapping-style and tried all the styles. None have any effect.

If text is behind or over your image you need to set the wrap style of your
image too. Format>Picture>Layout> and set it to either Square or Tight.
Try that.

Blair: Good thought - but doesn't work. Col 1 is perfect. Problem Col 2
only.

Erika, I know you visit here frequently, but I tend to forget your Pub
version. If you could remember to post the version in the future, that would
kick @ss :)
