I am attempting to set up a datbase to record swimming times but I am having
problems formatting a field to display times to 100ths of a second.
I am using Access in office 2003

The Date/Time data type in Access isn't appropriate for what you're trying
to do. For one thing, it's only intended to go down to seconds, not
hundredths, and it's also intended for timestamps (date and time), not times
only, or durations.

The normal advice is to store your times as Long Integers represent the
total number of hundredths of seconds. Write your own functions to convert
between hundredths of seconds and nn:ss.dd
