Forms and subforms

Is it possible to display a specific sub form within a
main body of a parent form depending upon the value of a
control either within the parent form or another subform
in the parent form..

ie, if controla=1, then i want subform x to be displayed
and active, but if controla=2 then subform y is to be
displayed and made active. Controla could either exist
in the parent form or a subform in the parent form
