Forms Questions

B

Brian F.

Hello All,

I have a question regarding forms and FP 2003. I have created a rather
lengthy form in FP and I have the results of the form E-mailed to me. Is
there a way to have the E-mail to give me ONLY the fields on the form that
are filled in with some type of information from the user? If this is not
possible using FP is there anything else out there that can do this?

Thanks,
Brian F.

Not possible with the FP Form Handler. You would have to write a custom Form
Handler in ASP, PHP, etc. all depends on what is supported by your host.

Thomas,

I am really stupid when it comes to forms. What would I need to create a
form that someone could request access to our region newsletter? It seems
like the webhost has to do something but like I said, I'm clueless about
this. Can you help me with the right questions to ask him? All I'd need is
their name, chapter affiliation, and email address - and I'd need that sent
to me.

Your host will have to be running the FP Server Extensions and have enabled Email Transport
You need to create the form in your PP Web and publish it to the host server using FP
Try File New page and the Forms Wizard Template

I know he's running 2000 extensions (not sure about 2002). Don't know about
the Email Transport but I can ask.

Now for a dumb question, what's "PP Web"?

PP is a Typo (should have been FP)

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH! That I can understand. :) I was trying to figure
out what the heck that was and whether I have one of them.

Nice to know that I'm not the only one who types funny now and then.
