Forms

I hope this is the right place for this......

I am using MSFP 2000 on a Vista Machine.

I maintain a few web sites and I am using the "Forms" function for the first
time.

I have created the form and I think I have it set up correctly as far as
getting the headings and fillin boxes.

I want it to send the data to an email address.

I put in the email address.

I type in some test data and here is the error I get:

" Front Page Error. User: Please report details to this sites webmaster.
Webmaster: Please see servers application event log for more details."

First of all it does write the correct data to the file held on the server.

I do not know where to look to find the "servers application event log".

What am I doing wrong? What do I have to do to get this to send the data via
email?

thanks
Happy New Year!

Are you trying to test this on your local pc? If so, it won't work, since
FP server extensions and a SMTP mail server are required.

Have you http published the site to a remote host that has the server
extensions installed? Have you asked your host to configure the forms to
email transport for your site?

Yes, it is on a remote server and yes the extensions are installed. the only
thing I do not know is if it is configured for forms. That I will look into.

Thanks

Bob

Hopefully, you are not hosted with GoDaddy, as many users have problems with them.

I use GoDaddy for 4 sites, all with forms, most with password protectected
subwebs written in ASP and I have NEVER had a problem.

On the unprotected portions of the sites I am. Also on the ASP I use a mix
of DBW and hand coded. No problems.
