In Word 2000, what is the best way to create a fill-in form in which the
form text is locked or protected such that the only information that can
be filled is the text fields? We presently get the result we want by
creating a form in Word, printing it to PDF, and making it fillable with
the full version of Acrobat, but Acrobat is such bloatware that we would
love to be able to stay in Word for the whole process.

Excellent. Thanks.

I'm using OE and for some reason it is not downloading all the new messages
even though that is the instruction. I will often get responses without the
original post, other times posts without interim responses. Frustrating.
(Your post of 9/1 just showed up today.)
