Formula Bar changes between Excel 2004 and 2008

I notice a difference when typing items in the formula bar between 2004
which I like and 2008 which I can't get used to.

in 2004 you type in an item to be calculated you had an X a Check mark
and the the little calculator symbol. I never used the calculator symbol
so I am not worried about that.

But in 2008 the x is way at the other end of the formula Bar and there
is no Check mark symbol. What the that symbol did is you clicked it
accepted the formula and you could move on to next cell to the side or down.

Now you have no choice you must hit return and that means is you want to
do something in the cell to the side you must move cursor to that cell.

is there anywhere I can turn that back on in 2008?

If it's "fixed", don't "break it"!
