Formula Bar - the contents disappeared!

For some reason, I can't see anything that is being typed in a formula bar, and when I go back to a cell, the cell contents don't appear there either. I have to hit F2 to see the contents of the cell..
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Which is it? First post states " when I go back to a cell, the cell contents
don't appear there either"

Second post states "I can see the contents in the cell but not in the formula
bar"

If second instance, perhaps the worksheet is protected and the cells
Properties is set to "Hidden", which would hide the content in the Formula Bar
but not the cell.

If first instance, perhaps the Properties are set to "hidden" and the cell
format is Custom ;;; which would hide the cell contents also.

Gord - My apologies for the confusion. It is the second instance, and the worksheet doesn't appear to be protected when I go into the cell Properties...

Look in Tools>Protection to see if worksheet is protected or not.

If it is you will see "Unprotect Sheet" available. If this is the case, you
may have to supply a password.
