Formula for times

I am trying to do a time sheet with Excel and I need to
calculate times. I am entering time start is 6pm to 6am
the next morning and it is not calculating it correctly.

Help!!

=MOD(end-start,1)

or using 2 cells

=MOD(B1-A1,1)

I did what you suggested and now The cells that I put that
formula in, I now need to calculate those same cells.
