Formula HELP!!!

Can anyone help.

In cell 'A1' I have data 'AC1003258'.
I am looking for a formula to place in 'B2' that would
abstract the first 2 letters and the last 2 numbers. So
cell 'B2' would = 'AC58'.

I hope this makes sence

Hi

This:
=LEFT(A1,2)&RIGHT(A1,2)
will bring in the first 2 characters and the last 2 characters. This is
regardless of whether they are number or letters, though.
