I am a very basic user and wish to thank anyone who can help me and answer my
question in laymen terms.

My spreadsheet has 25 rows that I wish to check for certain criteria ("P" or
"S"). If that criteria is in cell "D2" then I want it to put the information
in "A2" into "B29" or search the next cell/row down and input that
information (if there) or search another row.

Here's how my spreadsheet looks:

A B C D
1 A B KO
2 Melissa Martin 1
3 Amy Hybsha 1 S
4 Mary Kasri 3 S
5 Judy Klingenberg 2
8 Quynh Mar 1
9 Linda Skinkis 2
10 Charity Sanders 1 P
12 Patti Plenert 3
13 Brent Schock 1
14 Traci Pribbenow 2

A B C D
27 Key Op Date: Time:
29
29 1 Amy Hybsha (answer)
30 2 Mary Kasri (answer)
31 3 Charity Sanders (answer)
32 4
33 5

I hoping I'm not dreaming and this can be done. Thanx again for the brain
power!

Have a look in HELP index for Match and OR to find the row and then look
for INDEX or OFFSET to do as you desire.

Well, my bean counter and I worked on it for a few days now and still can't
figure it out. If it doesn't say "for Dummies..." I don't do well grasping
it. Can I send the spreadsheet to you to see if I'm even on the right track?
