Formula is malfunctioning

Hi,

Does anyone know why sometimes formulas don't actually
execute - they just show the formula in the cell.

i.e. =SUM(B2:B33)will be in the box verse it actually
giving you the answer. This has happen to me with other
formulas i.e. VLookups!

Do you think it is a BUG!

Hi
probably the cell is formated as 'Text'. goto 'Cells - Format' and
change the format to 'General'. After this re-enter your formula

Nope. More likely the cell was formatted as Text when you entered the
formula. XL's parser doesn't evaluate entries in Text-formatted cells.
