formula not copied down correctly

i have several worksheet (various files) which have
formulas in copied down in column cells. Up until 2 days
ago, I simply enter data in cells/ fields and formulas
were calculated. Formulas will no longer do without
first double clicking on formula cell and entering. Why
does the cell now need to see formula now?

Check if your calculation is automatic or manual. Go to
Tools > Options Select calculation tab and check the
button "automatic".

perhaps your CALCULATION setting was changed. Check in
TOOLS | OPTIONS | CALCULATION
and make sure that calculation is automatic.
